75 million consumers choose easily opened packaging

As our average lifespan increases so, too, does the number of people who have reduced strength in their hands. In Sweden over 15 percent of the population have such weak hands that they cannot manage to open ordinary forms of packaging like the pharmaceutical containers or vacuum-packed food.
Assistive devices do exist, but studies show that consumers prefer packaging they can open without using tools.

The European Union has 459 million inhabitants. If the proportion of those with weak hands is the same as in Sweden, this means that 75 million consumers prefer easily opened packaging. Studies indicate that egg cartons are regarded as the best in terms of their ease of opening.

This and much more is published in the new supplement to the binder ”From Know-How to Show-How” from Pro Carton Nordica. It is full of inspiring pictures of creative packages as well as interesting articles.
One describes how consumers shop and another how people’s priorities have moved from work to leisure and consumtion.

The supplement is published in four languages: Danish, English, Finnish and Swedish.
